Australia Ocean Media has been established for over 30 years and is one of the oldest Chinese-language media outlets in Melbourne and Australia. It once owned major Chinese-language media outlets such as "Ocean Times," "Ocean Daily," and "Australia Net." During its transition to new media, Ocean Media collaborated with the Australia-China Business Council (ACBC) and the Melbourne branch of the Australia-China General Chamber of Commerce (ACGCC) to organize the Australia-China Expo. The expo aimed to establish a high-end business and communication platform for China-Australia trade, economic relations, and investment, promoting healthy development in bilateral trade and providing more opportunities for businesses and consumers in both countries. The event has been held for seven years and has become a landmark platform for China-Australia trade and economic cooperation.

Fang also highlighted that 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a crucial year for the development of bilateral relations. He noted that the positive momentum in bilateral relations should be further strengthened, and that the Consulate General fully supports all sectors in the region to seize opportunities for deeper cooperation in various fields between China and Australia.

The meeting was attended by President of Ocean Media Group Feng Tuanbin and the media team, core members of the Australia-China Expo Steering Committee, President of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Victoria Chen Guangbao, CEO of the Australia-China Expo and Honorary President of the Australia Henan Chamber of Commerce Wang Yue, and other key members of the expo's operation team.

The 2024 Australia-China Expo was being actively organized with the strong support of ACBC and the CCCA. It was held in Melbourne from September 19-21, 2024. The Australia-China Business Bridge, as a key link between China and Australia’s business sectors, will play an important role in the event.
